Porcelain Irish Sheep

So much of Ireland's terrain is rough and rocky and it's winter weather so harsh that only the hardiest of sheep breeds would survive. They will also graze herbage, such as heather, that other animals will not. The Blackface Mountain, which is related to the Scottish Blackface, is the champion of this, and represents more than 70% of the sheep in the field. There are more than a dozen other breeds that play a very key roll, primarily as ram breeds in the sheep industry but as less hardy breeds, they're raised in the hill and lowland areas.
